As mentioned in a prior post, I have more ski pics to post. I'll finish off the topic with scenery dominant pics.
And a few pics after navigating w/ compass/bearings in a 3 hour white-out @ Red Mountain Pass.
And Signing-Off with the mode of transport(s) that lend a hand. Diesel Jetta = yum.

On par with Greg's suggestions...kayaking pics. It's getting hot in CO. Buddies Jeff and Greg are highlighted. Jeff like to enter Novice division competitions so he can win free beer and a kiss from the trophy girl. Greg likes to rub Jeff's shoulders.
I like this last parting shot a lot. All pics were taking in our home town, the Ghetto (Pueblo). The whitewater park here rips. Just remeber, lock your car, and carry a knife with you to ward off conflict.
I have a bunch of pics from this past ski season that I have not posted. The ski season began with a move to Salida in November. We kicked it off with a house warming and Scrabble.
Waxing skis in the barn and drinking beer were commonplace.
Cricket had yet another (her fifth) run in with barbwire, but still came out. She loves the steeps. Little Hoss came out for the XC tours.
Jamie and Lori ripped up the BC mellow like. Of course, Hoss needs a bit of help on a 9 mile ski.
Partners in crime included Craig, Karl, Vince (Karl and Vince save the Pro-life debates for the beer & brats off time), & Tyler. The fastest and sexiest, uncontested, was me.
Put in time in Wyoming. Good times, rather than skiing prevailed. However, we did make it out.
The Next few are dedicated to going down. Girls you can dig.
In a previous post, titled Hidden Chute, I posted pics showing the decent of the lower portion. I just got back some photos from Craig. We hit this again mid April. The snow was sweet.
I skied Chicago Ridge today. Spent the night in Leadville with some friends. I had to break trail as no one had skinned up the super secret route in a while.
The shot in the sparse trees marks my destination.
From up top I picked my line. It was nice to see only a few of the infamous stumps exposed. Mount Massive fills the horizon line.
Now that I'am done with the bar I have time... to blog about skiing. Let's talk set-up. I wanted a rig capable of some in-bounds skiing, but mainly BC skiing. I picked up the K2 Apache Chief(s) this season and mounted a "Freeride" binding on them. Minus the MTV name, the bindings are great. I left them stock and have had no problems as of yet.
The skis are stiff. They surf well and are not very heavy. The only mod to the skis I have made is a notch in the tail for my skins (table grinder). For day tours, I cannot rave enough about this set-up; at the shovel 131, waist 98, and tail 116. I have had days on powder, crud and corn/ice with no problems. With a universal Swix wax, blue Toko mix, with a kick wax of the day in the kicker area, these skis are FAST!
